Connecting Here and Now (19.8 MB). The name of this service is also the theme of the congregation's annual Spiritual Retreat, happening out at Kamp Kiwanis. For those not able to attend the retreat, we will be reflecting on and experiencing in our church home how to connect with each other and ourselves here and now.

We Need Not Think Alike To Love Alike (12 MB). The title of this service comes from the words of Francis David, Transylvanian minister in one of the first Unitarian movements in the world, in 16th Century Europe. Why does freedom of religion, the use of reason in religion, and the need for compassion, come out as the gold of Unitarianism? Hear how Francis David and our own present day Calgary community have things to learn from each other's lives.

Where do we come from? Who are we? Where are we going?(15.8 MB). - Rev. Charles Eddes was the special guest speaker at our congregation's 50th anniversary weekend. Fifty years ago this year, when Charles was minister of the Unitarian Church of Edmonton, he came and preached the service that helped gather people together who then founded the present congregation. As a Canadian Unitarian minister and former president of the Canadian Unitarian Council, Charles has served congregations on both sides of the border, including the Unitarian Church of Edmonton, the Lakeshore Unitarian Church in Beaconsfield, Quebec, the Unitarian Church of Montreal (where he is their Minister Emeritus), and Unitarian congregations in Whitman MA and Evanston IL. His sermon is insightful and very funny.

The Days of Awe (10.4 MB). - This is the Sunday that falls in the middle of the Jewish holy days referred to as "The Days of Awe." Their New Year, Rosh Hashanah, and the Days of Atonement, Yom Kippur, are when members of the Jewish community spend time asking forgiveness from people in their lives and from God. These acts inspire me. How do we as Unitarians put ourselves in right relationship with ourselves, each other, and the wider cosmos?
